Winter Garden Theatre
The beloved musical classic returns in a new production with superstars Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster. Considered one of America’s greatest musicals, ‘The Music Man’ centers on con man Harold Hill’s arrival in Iowa preparing to peddle the same musical instrument scam he’s been perpetuating all over the Midwest. However, things become complicated when he falls a little too hard for the stern local librarian, Marian.
2 hours 45 minutes with no intermission
Some innuendo about waiting to be kissed, old maids, etc, all very mild and old-fashioned. Some dated gender and racial references have been updated or removed (Shipoopi is not about consent, not hussies). Some may argue that Hill’s behavior toward Marian constitutes harassment, make sure to discuss after.
These tickets are way more than anything else playing on Broadway due to Jackman’s rabid fans, up to $599 for orchestra.
$49 rush tickets will be available on the day of performance at the Box Office when it opens (10 am, 12 pm Sundays). Hopefuls line up on the street starting at 7 am, with better chances on weekdays. Limit two tickets per person. Tickets are often partial view and may not be together.
A limited number of $76 standing room tickets are available two hours before curtain time at the box office when the show is sold out.
