๐Ÿฆ“ Different sections of the zoo correspond to different habitats. See lions, giraffes, zebras and more on the African Plains. Learn about gorillas and watch them play in the mostly indoors Congo Gorilla Forest. Get up to close the giraffes indoors in the winter.

๐Ÿž Ride on a ladybug on the Bug Carousel, pet and feed sheep, cows, llamas and more in the charming Children’s Zoo, visit the (indoor & outdoor) Butterfly Garden & with pollinator photo-ops, take a monorail to see elephants and other Asian animals and so much more.

๐ŸŒณ Navigate across bridges and over balancing beams at Nature Trek.

๐ŸŽŸ Family memberships start at $170 and also include unlimited admission to the Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, and Prospect Park Zoo, special members-only events, store & cafe discounts and more. It will take you several visits to see the whole Zoo, plus there are lots of seasonal happenings and special exhibits. Gates open at 9:30am for members with a 10am reservation.

๐ŸŽŸย Free admission on Wednesdays. Advance tickets available at 5:00pm the Monday before.

๐Ÿฝย  The new menu at Dancing Crane Plaza Cafe ranges from hot dogs & chicken fingers to salads & grain bowls. Lots of covered and open-air seating available. ๐ŸšŠ The BxM11 express bus makes stops along Madison Avenue, between 26th and 99th Streets, then travels directly to the Zoo’s Bronx River entrance. $6.75 each direction, about a 40 minute trip from midtown (see the schedule).

๐Ÿš™ย  The Zoo has three entrances with (usually crowded) parking lots ($17)ย  โ€“ Southern Boulevard (S. Blvd & 183rd St),ย  Bronx River (Exit 6 off Bronx River Parkway) and Asia (at Boston Road & Bronx Park South). Southern Boulevard is the main entrance, closest to the most attractions; but the other gates can be less crowded and closer to some animals/exhibits – see the interactive map to plan your route.
