Put on your scarf, gloves, jacket, and maybe a pair of snow boots and explore local forest wildlife in the winter season. Head outside to look for traces of animals and learn how to differentiate their tracks. Suggested for ages 4 and up.
Visit with and learn about some of Rye Nature Center’s resident animals snakes, turtle, and birds. For fathers (or other caregiver) and children, Suggested for ages 3 to 7.
A traditional, favorite event in Rye that features a log sawing contest, fire-roasted marshmallows, hikes, maple sugaring, and fun crafts will warm everyone up. Punch cards available for purchase. All ages welcome.

Tap a tree the old-fashioned way, and learn how maple trees produce sap and get a peek at the sugaring process in the Rye Nature Center’s sugar shed. Pre-registration is required. Suggested for ages 5 and up.
