💥 A giant winged dragon and flying monkeys are a bit scary, along with the menacing fake head of the Wizard. Expect some startling noises. The plot is a bit political and complex for very young kids, but the show keeps moving with humor and over-the-top numbers.

🎥 Familiarity with the 1939 Wizard of Oz is not necessary but adds to the enjoyment. Check out the 1978 Wiz for an urban take on the classic story (starring Michael Jackson & Diana Ross) or the  2015 live TV version.

📕 This beautifully illustrated edition of The Wonderful Wizard of OZ is a great look at Glinda/Dorothy’s side of the story (the book ‘Wicked’ the musical is based on has a lot of sex/violence and is not for kids).
