Enjoy storytime and nature-inspired art projects in a historic house among gorgeous gardens and trees overlooking the Hudson River. Create brilliant compositions out of bountiful squares of donated fabric inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s visit to the Gee’s Bend Community in rural Alabama, during which the Freedom Quilting Bee was established. Celebrate the Dr. King’s birthday and the inspiring women quilters of Gee’s Bend.
Explore 28-acre of gardens and woodlands with more than 4,000 varieties of trees, shrubs, vines, and herbaceous plants and dramatic views of the Hudson River.
The delicious Café has grab-and-go items, snacks and beverages amn outdoor seating on a lovely terrace. Or bing your own food to a picnic area by the art gallery.
