Celebrate the creative legacy of The Village Voice (1955-2018), the downtown alternative weekly that “gave New York its cool.” Enjoy interactive performances, poetry writing, and art making. Hear Josh Levine and Vanisha Gould play multicultural children’s favorites, take poetry writing workshops based on Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends and join art making activities based on happenings from the 60s and 70s – activities designed to get all ages thinking and moving freely in spaces that reflect McDarrah’s Village, from the art studio to the coffee shop to the park. Plus free hot chocolate.
