Father Duffy Square in Times Square

Broadway between West 46th & West 47th Streets Midtown

Kehinde Wiley’s monumental public sculpture of a young, African-American urban streetwear sitting astride a massive horse in a striking pose visits Times Square before its installation in Richmond, Virgina  on a nationally landmarked boulevard lined with Confederate statues, including monuments to Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson. An interesting update on these controversial monuments and good way to talk to kids about race and history (and/or just say hi to the big horse if they’re not ready for that yet).
