Discover the power of community at the Rubin Museum’s annual Block Party with art and activities for all ages inspired by the Rubin’s yearlong exploration of the power that dwells within us and flows between us (plus enjoy free admission to indoor, air-conditioned galleries and art workshops including interactive exhibition The Power of Intention: Reinventing the (Prayer) Wheel). Create stress balls and a portable lamp with LED lights, build a collaborative floral feast for the eyes, get scientific with magnetic force and metallic sand, explore movement with groups that must move in unison, enjoy wind powered messages with artist Kyung-Jin Kim, see performances by Fogo Azul Brazilian Women’s Drumline and much more. Food available from a Café Serai Outpost, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Truck, People’s Pops, Sweetface Snoballs and more.
