Pollinators Weekend

Saturday, June 16, 10:00 am–3:00 pm
Wave Hill (West 249th Street & Independence Avenue)
$12, free/ages 6 & under

Celebrate National Pollinators Week and the tiny creatures who beautify gardens and help put food on dinner tables in a gorgeous setting on the Hudson River. Take part in an interactive project painting nocturnal flowers in fluorescent colors to add to a night-garden, “glow room” installation. Then make a furry, handmade, paper-puppet bat to fly in the dayglo garden for a nectar feast. Also learn about (and purchase) pollinator-friendly plants, go on naturalist-led walks to see pollinators in action and assemble a rustic bee house (or condo) for the pollinators.
