LeFrak Center Ice Skating
Enjoy ice skating, figure skating, curling, hockey and broomball in a covered rink in Prospect Park. Rental skates are brand-new this year. Olympic figure-skating athletes Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov direct the Sports Programs for Lakeside's growing Skate School. See bold, futuristic looks of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s in a survey of Pierre Cardin’s decades-long career at the forefront of fashion invention. Explore an immersive environment inspired by Cardin’s unique atelier designs, showrooms, and homes containing over 170 objects drawn from legendary couturie atelier and archive, including historical and contemporary haute couture, prêt-à-porter, trademark accessories, “couture” furniture, lighting, fashion sketches, personal photographs, and excerpts from television, documentaries, and feature films.

The Largest Menorah in Brooklyn Lighting & Concert
Enjoy a live concert, starting at 4:00 pm, before the 6:30 pm Menorah lighting. The lightings continue every night of Chanukah with live music and hot latkes for all. Special gifts are distributed to every child. Lifted 35 feet in the air using a special boom lift, Rabbi Shimon Hecht accompanies community leaders, philanthropists and special guests in lighting this humongous Menorah.

A one-of-a-kind storytelling performance follows a lost toy, Catbear, as he travels through the tunnels of New York City on six different subway lines, looking for his owner. Each train has its own story, and Catbear experiences all the sights and sounds of New York City before landing home again. Interactive and intimate; ideal for children ages 2-5.
