Celebrate the Lower East Side’s many cultures (especially Puerto Rican and Latino) through live music, ethnic cuisine and arts. Kid-friendly activities include a carnival procession, an outdoor theatrical presentations from The Loisaida Festival Theater Lab, arts & crafts and multi-lingual music.
Look for evocative symbols and shapes among Carolyn Salas’s large, laser-cut, powder-coated aluminum sculptures. The intricate patterns reference conflicting expectations and possibilities of womanhood and feminine identity.
