Celebrate the local, seasonal harvest. at the Lefferts Historic House with games and activities. Play croquet, corn hole and other lawn games on the Lefferts lawn. Help harvest the fall crop, then taste this bounty prepared in a vegetable stew cooked over the Lefferts outdoor hearth by a costumed interpreter. Join NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital to help prep and taste local seasonal vegetables, and bring home a recipe to cook with your family. At 2 pm, enjoy harvest tales with veteran storyteller Tammy Hall.
Families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder are invited to come an hour early (12 pm) for a special event with extra sensory-based activities to provide fun for a wide range of preferences, a downloadable Pre-Trip Social Story and a comfortable, protected and accepting environment. Attendance is limited; RSVP required.
Prospect Park Zoo
This former menagerie is designed to allow up-close animal viewing, perfect for families with young children who want to learn about wildlife.
Explore a Discovery Trail and encounter 400 animals of 150 species including red pandas, dingos, procupines and a host of beautiful birds. Visit unique small cats, sea lions and Chinese-big headed turtles.
