Explore Japan’s seasonal customs and culture through art making and activities based on a different theme each month.

From 1–2 pm, preschool-aged children take part in the early-spring tradition of Hinamatsuri and the grand collections of beautiful hina dolls displayed in honor of this festival. View an authentic collection of these traditional dolls and join in on other Hinamatsuri crafts.

From 2:30–4 pm, 6 to 10-year-olds learn, create, and dance with the Hanagasa Kai group from the Japanese Folk Dance Institute of New York.
