Celebrate Japanese culture at a parade along Central Park West between 81st Street and 68th Street, led by Grand Marshal George Takei. Enjoy performances by the cast of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, The Super Live, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, Cobu, Soh Daiko, Japanese Folk Dance of NY, International Karate Organization Kyokushin-kaikan and Anime NYC. At the end of the parade route, find a street fair showcasing Japanese cuisine. Try Japanese street foods such as Ramen, Soba, Okonomiyaki, and more smaple free Japanese tea. Activities include a Hello Kitty Photo Booth and origami.

Shop at an outdoor market featuring 80+ hand-picked independent local artisans and dealers. Find one-of-a-kind handmade candles, skincare, fashion, vintage accessories and collectibles, handmade jewelry and furniture, rare antique silver- and glassware, and delicious artisanal chocolates and foods.

Profits are donated to four local public school.
