How did we get the Christmas tree? The tradition of gift giving? The holiday that combines religion with movies, shopping, bright lights and the yuletide log? Learn about the origins of the Christmas tree, and the tradition of gift giving, and development of Christmas in America through a talk given by historian Maria Byrne. Afterward, hear acclaimed organist Kathryn Jones perform a Holiday recital on one of the nation’s oldest working pipe organs, accompanied by a soprano.
