Discover an old-school fall foliage festival in the heart of Brooklyn—complete with hay rides, carnival games, music, and more. Local cider makers and kombucha brewers offer tastings, a farmers’ market features heritage apples from local orchards, and kids can debut their Halloween costumes in a high-energy drum parade. Groove to sounds from around the block and around the world. Press cider with a traditional cider press, join sack races, decorate a pumpkin to take home  and try ghands=-on science.

Due to festival crowds, avoid bringing a stroller. Advance ticket purchase recommended.

 

Prospect Park Zoo

This former menagerie is designed to allow up-close animal viewing, perfect for families with young children who want to learn about wildlife.

Explore a Discovery Trail and encounter 400 animals of 150 species including red pandas, dingos, procupines and a host of beautiful birds. Visit unique small cats, sea lions and Chinese-big headed turtles.

Classical Kids Fair

WQXR is heading to Brooklyn for the Classical Kids Fair at Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Families can experience live performances, an instrument petting zoo, arts and crafts, radio and dance workshops, and more. Listen, look, and play alongside WQXR and our friends from the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, The Little Orchestra Society, and Dancers of the Met.
