Greenwich Village Children’s Halloween Parade
October 31 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Gather by the Washington Square Arch at 3 pm for a less crowded and crazy version of the evening’s parade. Free trick-or-treat bags, performances, games, and rides will await the children after the parade on West 3rd Street between LaGuardia Place and Mercer Street.
The iconic arch frames a brightly lit 45-foot tree. Home of two caroling events: Unsilent Night and the more traditional Christmas Eve Caroling Under the Arch
Santa Claus himself has promised to appear and lead the children in the countdown to light up a 45-foot Christmas tree. All are invited to sing holiday songs accompanied by the Rob Susman Brass Quartet (complimentary songbooks provided by the Washington Square Association).
In this modern update to traditional caroling, composer Phil Kline leads a massive chorus of boomboxes from Washington Square Park to Tompkins Square Park. To participate, arrive at the arch in Washington Square Park by 5:45. Download the music online in advance or dig out your ancient technology and show…
