Celebrate the spookiest holiday with plentiful pumpkins and hordes of gourds around the 250-acre New York Botanical Garden among gorgeous fall foliage. Artist Adam Bierton tackles some of the largest pumpkins in the world, carving them into stunning and frightful sculptures during this weekend of tricks and treats.

Artfully trained Japanese chrysanthemums—or kiku, a staple of fall flowering beauty—fill the Haupt Conservatory with sculptural flower displays.

In the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, stroll through displays of whimsical scarecrows and see a variety of pumpkins and gourds up close. Grab a scavenger hunt to search for signs of fall in the Garden. Weekdays 1:30–5:30 pm & weekends 10 am–5:30 pm, join guided activities. Peek inside a pumpkin and create a mini fizzing pumpkin experiment. Learn about spooky critters like bats and spiders and listen to autumn tales in a Swamp Oak Story Spot. Pot up a festive fall plant to take home.

From 1–4 pm, savor favorite flavors of the season while exploring the botanical backgrounds of pumpkin spice, maple syrup, chrysanthemum tea, and more with artisan demonstrations, food and beverage talks, demonstrations, and tastings. Join special weekends of pumpkin parades and pumpkin carving face-offs.

🎟 Half-price to outdoor grounds for NYC residents. If you’re planning on the Holiday Train Show, consider an annual membership, starting at $145 for families (tax-deductible).
