Bundle up and get your creativity flowing. Local storyteller Rachael Harrington leads participants on a walk through the depths of Fort Tryon Park, observing natural elements along the way. Participants create original characters and fairytales based on the unique natural features of the Alpine Garden and surrounding area.

Best suited for kids ages 4 to 9. Caregiver must accompany their child for the duration of the event.

Hot chocolate provided.

Shearing of the Heather & Community Parade

Bring musical instruments and join in a community parade through the Heather Garden led by traditional bagpipers. Learn why Fort Tryon Park has the largest heath and heather collection in the northeast, and how to propagate your own heathers with clippings from the shearing.
