Nosh on (kosher) egg rolls, egg creams and empanadas at a celebration of the diverse ethnic communities of the Museum at Eldridge Street’s Lower East Side/Chinatown neighborhood. A mash-up of Jewish, Chinese and Puerto Rican tastes, traditions, sights and sounds includes performances of Chinese opera, klezmer, cantorial, and Puerto Rican bomba music.

Watch demonstrations by a Hebrew and a Chinese scribe, Puerto Rican mask maker, and other folk artists. Learn how to braid challahs and make dumplings and empanadas and eat kosher egg rolls, egg creams and empanadas. Partake in a multitude of crafts including yarmulke making, mask making, lace making and more plus play fierce game of mah jongg with community mavens.

DeSalvio Playground

This small park has cool design, a big includes a big jungle gym with monkey bars atop rubber matting, lots of shaded seating area, a basketball court (with two hoops), checker board tables and sprinklers.
