Cooper Hewitt concludes National Design Week with a day of hands-on activities led by National Design Award winners and guest designers. Audiences of all ages are invited to play designer and tackle design challenges in workshops, learn new design skills, and explore the museum. Join ongoing workshops in product design, architecture, fashion, landscape and create a 2-dimensional muppet with Sesame Street.

Drop in on Design

Design with a range of materials in an intergenerational program facilitated by  museum educator. Projects change each session. No prior experience in design required to participate. Cooper Hewitt Pay-As-You-Wish Hours

This collection of historic and contemporary design is a high-tech, interactive dream for all ages. Explore innovative design through the centuries, play designer on high resolution touchscreen tables with very cool electronic ‘pens,’ and rock around in the Spun chairs in the basement.
