Truly interactive colorful pop-up with fun activities and sweet treats in sixteen unique rooms designed by different artists was recently refreshed with new paint and new balls in the giant ball pit. Lots of bright fun for all ages including a conveyor belt of rainbow colored macarons, a high-tech room for disco dancing, colorful drumming and a giant blue ball pit. My daughter especially enjoyed an activity where we drew each other with our eyes closed and picked the colors of each other’s essences. The 1 year old we were with loved playing with ombre balloon balls by a giant fan.
An all-ages adventure for babies to grown-ups. More well designed, thoughtful and less crowded than many other pop-ups with activities, not just photo-ops (though plenty of those, and we love the strategically placed cameras with timers. You move though rooms sequentially in small groups so it’s easy to keep track of kids. Stop by anytime for a free neighborhood guide for self-guided adventures around the neighborhood including the so fun Circle Game mural.
Poet Scott Raven and artist Josefina Hernandez join forces to tell multi-level, interactive “Storied Stories” with words and pictures. Together they look through windows, open doors, and climb the rooftops of our imaginations to bring heARTfelt tales of family fun and adventure. With wit, humor and wonder, these carefully woven tales will bring the Museum’s exhibits to life.
