Battery “B” First Rhode Island Light Artillery runs 2 hour session with fun filled, yet educational activities, demonstrations and ending with the firing a real civil war cannon. Witness living history while learning about the life of civil war soldiers and their families. Create and take home a “thaumatrope,” also known as a spinning wonder; a 19th century optical illusion toy that is an early form of animation.

Come prepared to stay outside during the camp; bring water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothing.

All children participating will receive a personalized certificate, a take-home craft project, and Friends of Lasdon embroidered patch.
