Celebrate the 2023 Chinese New Year with China Institute and an authentic experience of local Chinese culture.

After the opening lion dance, join New Year-themed workshops and activities tailored for all age groups. See various cultural performances from the beautiful city of Suzhou including internationally-renowned local Kun Opera (昆曲), as well as exquisite Suzhou-style embroidery (苏绣), and Pingtan (评弹), a form of ballad singing in Suzhou with Chinese instruments.

All visitors present proof of COVID vaccination and photo ID. Masks are highly recommended.

La MaMa Kids: This Frog Was Made for Jumping

See six unique short puppet theatre pieces created around the theme of the metamorphosis of the frog.

By Loco7 Dance Puppet Theatre Company; performed by members of Sirovich Senior Center who participated in a 2 month period a weekly creative process and development.
