Celebrate Children’s Day at Japan Village with events happening all day. Enjoy free ceramic samurai helmet painting for kids, origami workshops, Koto music performances, Pokemon coloring events and Mochi pounding show with kashiwa mochi ($2 each; proceeds donated to Syria and Turkey).

Wave Hill Family Art Project

Enjoy nature-inspired art projects among gorgeous gardens and trees overlooking the Hudson River. Themes change weekly.

Field Guide: Planting Workshop

Join neighborhood farmer Anna Poaster of Hellgate Farm and talk about plants, planting, then get into the soil!  Plant vegetables, herbs, and flowers in the education gardens.

Over the rest of the summer, these plants will be attracting pollinators, and being used, tasted, smelled, touched, and propagated in the season’s workshops.

Meet Your Green Neighbors: Walk for Kids

Join Molly Nash Rouzie, an expert plant watcher with certificates in botany and horticulture, for a family-friendly tour of the natural wonders of Green-Wood Cemetery. and an introduction to plant parts.

During this 90-minute walk, kids will learn to make observations and identify the characteristics of plants they encounter.
