Join Parenting Center staff on the Nursery School Playground for an hour of summer fun, with water activities, spray bottles and much more. Register online to guarantee admission, since spots are limited. You may also pay by credit card at the door, but we admit on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Wednesday, June 19
Join Rebecca Schoffer and 92Y Parenting Center staff for a fun and interactive sing-a-long of old time favorites, folk songs and childhood classics.
Read stories and learn age-appropriate yoga poses at these free action-packed storytimes for yogis up to six years old, held in a gorgeous brick studio with pretty flower murals. Even at the age of 2, my kids loved trying handstands against the wall.
Combine cardio with artistry as you wave long ribbons in the air to create rainbows, waterfalls, dragons and ocean waves. All ages and skill levels are welcome.Classes taught by Margaret Yuen from Red Silk Dancers.
Thursday, June 20
Stretch and move to songs, rhymes, and more with Sacred Sounds Yoga. Foster creativity, cooperation, and confidence in a safe environment where all kids are perfect just the way they are. Please bring your own yoga mat.
Saturday, June 22
Join free yoga for children and their parents/caregivers with Christina Shablak, a certified children’s instructor. All children are welcome with a parent or caregiver. Please arrive early, and bring a towel or yoga mat. Please note: The ground is sloped and there are uneven spots. Rain or wet ground cancels.
All levels and ages are invited to experience the joy of movement and dance in weekly free classes led by former and current members of the internationally renowned modern dance company Limón Dance accompanied by live drumming.
Sunday, June 23
Explore the themes and materials seen in the works on view at a drop-in studio art-making program. Led by great teachers and friendly teen volunteers, fun for all ages (including grown ups). Stick around for more art-making in drop-in Open Studios.
Friday, July 12
Grownups and their children (up to 3 years old) explore America’s past, present, and future in a lively and interactive tour before the museum opens for the day. Includes singing, movement, texture exploration, and art-making in the galleries. Second Friday & Third Sunday of the month.
