Inspired by her Coney Island upbringing, Carol Lipnik, with Mexican composer, pianist, and cabaret performer Tareke Ortiz,  evokes a shadow-world of mysterious, often misunderstood creatures through her versatile four-octave voice. Through songs ranging from mad, carnival-ride tangos and waltzes to dramatic Bowie-esque rock and intricate, semi-acoustic art songs, sideshow freaks meet Mayan deities for a Spooktacular Halloween concert of traditional and original songs that feature weeping bird spirits, spells, ghosts, werewolves, two-headed calves, and more other-worldly creatures. Costumes designed by the singular Machine Dazzle.

Seating available on a first-come, first-served basis, room to roam (and bathrooms) in the back.

Swans, sword fights, and toreadors take center stage at the grand Metropolitan Opera House in kid-friendly, bite-sized excerpts of works from ABT’s Summer Season including Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet and George Balanchine’s patriotic Stars and Stripes.

This narrated hour-long introduction to ballet for children ages 5-12 and their families hosted by ABT…
