American Folk Art Museum (2 Lincoln Square (Columbus Avenue at 66th Street))
See four distinct phases in the oeuvre of canonical art brut figure Carlo Zinelli through a selection of fifty-five paintings (many displayed double-sided), audio recordings of Zinelli, a film, and images by Life magazine photographer John Phillips. Bright, colorful multiples of crazy characters make this small exhibit interesting for all. And the museum’s gift shop is a gem.
Eats & Treats: Stop by Chef Daniel's Épicerie Boulud a few blocks south for delicious house-made charcuterie and a selection of artisanal cheeses, alongside home-made soups, salads, sandwiches, fresh baked breads, pastries and more. We love the sausages, macaroons and gelato.
