Learn Broadway songs and dances from the very stars who brought them to life via Zoom. Presented by Broadway Babysitters.
Recommended age 5 years old and above, through some classes are geared towards tots. Space is limited.
Battery Dance offers free virtual dance classes for kids with teaching artists across New York, helping to keep kids active as well as connected in this time of isolation.
For elementary school students aged 5 and up. Fun free classes for teens/grown-ups also available.
NYC kids yoga program Yogi Beans offer virtual classes via Zoom. Classes are noncompetitive, non-judgmental, physically challenging, and a ton of fun. Suggested age range varies by day and time, from babies to tweens.
Monday, July 6
Learn about dance at in-person (socially distanced) weekly camps designed for movers of all levels, our camps give students the opportunity to try a wide variety of styles including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater, breakdancing, acting and more. Weekly themes include Fairy Tales, Superheroes and On Broadway. Half-day and extended care until 6 pm available.
For ages 3-14.
Join a non-competitive, fun, outdoor sports program, modified for social distancing. Receive basic instruction from local coaches and college athletes in soccer, baseball, basketball, lacrosse etc. plus play supervised park games like capture the flag and frisbee. Morning and afternoon half-day options available.
For ages 3-10.
Learn fun songs & dances related to weekly themes and participate in vocal, dance and creative play daily activities with NYC professional Teaching Artists. On the last day, perform for friends and family all over the world. Ages 6+ devise an original music as an ensemble.
For ages 4-12.
92Y’s immersive virtual summer experiences provide campers with personalized attention and a specialty curated curriculum. Each week campers will be guided by their camp concierge, an expert from the 92Y Camps Team, to assist in the selection of elective activity choices (camptivities) like filmmaking, photography, coding, sculpture, art and musical theater plus join in on camp wide special events.
For ages 3-13. Options for half day programming or drop in classes.
Wednesday, July 8
Join Ballet Hispánico watch parties and enjoy a Company performance home, followed by live Q&A sessions with Artistic Director and CEO of Ballet Hispánico Eduardo Vilaro, choreographers and Company dancers. Featured pieces include Waiting for Pepe, Sombrerísimo, Noche Unidos, a night of dance and unity and El Viaje.
Thursday, July 9
Bring the fun of a Broadway show to your home in this drop-in class! Learn a section of a musical theater song and practice singing, dancing, and acting skills on the virtual stage. No experience is needed, but Broadway fans will also enjoy moving to their favorite songs and shows. Led by Mackie Saylor, CMA School and Community Programs Manager and Teaching Artist.
For the ages 9+.
Friday, July 10
Explore physicality and channel energy in an active live online class. Young artists use their bodies and imaginations to explore images and feelings through movement and music. Led by Mackie Saylor, CMA School and Community Programs Manager.
