We love Bryant Park – the charming Le Carrousel, a delicious new food market Feast on 40th (Cinnamon Snail is yum!), the cleanest bathrooms in midtown and tons of free programs for all ages – concerts, magic shows, sing-a-longs and accordions. Bryant Park Friday Picnic

Spread out on a free picnic blankets and nosh on food from local vendors curated by Hester Street Fair including Thaibird’s curry fried chicken, Pokee NYC’s pokee donut, Parantha Alley’s spicy stuffed rotis, John’s Juice, Moon Man and Taiyaki’s signature waffle fish soft serve ice cream. Also enjoy lawn games, photo ops, live performances and more.

Bryant Park Moves with Limon Dance

All levels and ages are invited to experience the joy of movement and dance in weekly free classes led by former and current members of the internationally renowned modern dance company Limon Dance accompanied by live drumming.

Greeley Square Improv

June 20 – August 31

Explore scenework and improvisation techniques in a free, 90 minute beginner-level improv workshop in Greely Square Park with instruction by The Peoples Improv Theater. Each class covers beginner-level material through games and group exercises. For all ages.

MoMA Summer Thursdays

July 6 – August 31
Thursday, 6:30 pm–9:00 pm
Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), 4 West 53rd Street

The lovely MoMA Sculpture Garden hosts weekly multicultural musical acts from around the world. Louder kids can dance in the back by the gelato. In case of rain, music takes place in Theater 1. These concerts are not free, but we consider MoMA membership ($85) a great investment for any city family for the MoMA Art Lab alone.

Pop-Up Maker Space on Pier 84

July 2 – August 27
Sunday, 4:30 pm–5:30 pm
Pier 84, Hudson River & 44th Street

Join in weekly workshops challenging participants to design and construct solutions to real-world problems at an outdoor Maker Space. Tinker, test and learn in Hudson River Park.

Midtown Recess

Plaza33, West 33rd Street between 7th & 8th Avenue

All ages can play giant chess, oversized Connect 4, jump ropes, and more.
