The Holiday Train Show is an annual must, and the sprawling grounds of this 124-year-old Bronx institution are a gorgeous respite from urban living all year round.

$: $28, $25/students & seniors, $12/ages 2-12, free/under 2

Annual Memberships: $80+.

Free Hours: Wednesdays all day, Saturday 9 - 10 am. Does not include the Conservatory, Special Exhibitions, Everett Children's Adventure Garden, or Tram Tour.

Favorite Spots: Enjoy music, mazes, guided nature explorations and more in the delightful Everett Children's Adventure Garden.

CHIHULY (through Oct 29)

The New York Botnical Garden’s landmark landscape and buildings showcase world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s signature organic shapes in brilliant colors. In a reimagination of his storied 1975 Artpark installation, three new works will enliven the water features of the Native Plant Garden and the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory Courtyard’s Tropical Pool, reflecting the interplay and movement of color and light.

Eat & Treats: The family-friendly menu at the counter-service Pine Tree Café offers fresh panini, pizza, salads and snacks. Shop for artisanal caramels, infused olive oils and other tasty treats at the charming gift shop.

Other Tips: Take a leisurely narrated tram ride around the gardens to rest from all that walking.
