The Holiday Train Show is an annual must, and the sprawling grounds of this 124-year-old Bronx institution are a gorgeous respite from urban living all year round.

Free Hours: Wednesdays all day, Saturday 9 - 10 am. Does not include the Conservatory, Special Exhibitions, Everett Children's Adventure Garden, or Tram Tour.
Favorite Spots: Enjoy music, mazes, guided nature explorations and more in the delightful Everett Children's Adventure Garden.

•The Orchid Show: Daniel Ost (through Apr 22)
Wander through a series of orchid installations crafted by Daniel Ost—each a living sculpture that celebrates the complex beauty of these stunning flowers. One of the world’s leading floral designers, Ost uses flowers as a means of expression. His artistic creations will be tailored to the unique environment of the landmark Victorian-style Conservatory, complementing the architecture of the building while creating a transformative, dazzling spectacle of color, form, and texture.
Eat & Treats: The family-friendly menu at the counter-service Pine Tree Café offers fresh panini, pizza, salads and snacks. Shop for artisanal caramels, infused olive oils and other tasty treats at the charming gift shop.
Other Tips: Take a leisurely narrated tram ride around the gardens to rest from all that walking.
